The concept behind this piece is to bring a lighthouse — a thing typically found by the sea — into the desert landscape of Las Vegas. Despite being 300 miles from water, the Sphere shares many parallels with a lighthouse.
Both draw attention from afar, and both use light as a medium to shape their surroundings and interact with their audience. That's why I removed the literal form of the lighthouse, leaving only a simplified representation to emphasize the effects created through light.
We bring stability, clarity, and permanence by illuminating the space, while darkness conceals dualism, chaos, and unpredictability. Nevertheless, one gives way to the other, and we only move toward the light, creating it for ourselves and those around us.

I admire the ability of people to create structures out of chaos, transporting the viewer to other realities through art. The Sphere, in this regard, is an amazing canvas that attracts the attention of creators much like the ceilings of cathedrals once attracted artists.
